On 25th Aug, the rockgym was visited by Dr Khor Sth Sth, the SP Principal and a few VIPs. it was an opportunity for the club to showcase some club unity, discipline and some climbing prowess and skill. and in the end, it was a resounding success..
heres a brief summary of the days proceedings.
1200 - Meeting to discuss event.
1300 to 1500 - Preparation (Arrange crashpads, major arranging and cleaning and wiping and sweeping and mopping and waiting for participants of the HANGING and PULLUP comp)
1530 - not one participant turned up. we panicked and went around school to get "competitors". managed to drag some ppl down. most from the canoeing club.
1530 to 1715 - watched participants pull and hang. Dyno demonstrators practised till happy.
1716 - ARRIVAL OF Guest of Honour.
1720 - Dyno SHOW.
1730 - Bye bye to GOH.
VIP was greeted by erhm erhm "Senior Advisor" Hatta and led into the rockgym. and then she approached the bunch of freshies and asked them a few questions, jus like National Day. She got a good look at our "Entertainment Section" where Chris Sharma was probably doing some sick route, playing on DVD. Then she was led to sit in full view of the wall, where the club has planned sth SPECIAL for those tired VIPS, who had spent a whole afternoon watching the Track N Field event at the stifling stadium.
Irwan started things off with some roof climbing action. the Principal of SP went WHOA WHOA WHOA, followed by the same sounds of fascination by the other VIPs. then Zaki campused up the 45 degree and then double campused up the blue volume and down. Surprising no one commented on his "flowing-like-waterfall" hair though. and then began the dyno fireworks. jinli, azmi, mimi, yan, lenny, luqman, idris gave one hell of a show. the VIPs, still hungry for more action, then asked Genie, our alumni member who STARTED SPRC yyyyears ago,to show what she's got. and in true SPRC "old school" style, she traversed the roof, to the incline and down to the flat wall. after all these years, she's still as strong as ever. wow.
to everyone who were there, tks for helping out. this has been a very encouraging success and the club is sure to benefit in the future someways.
